Series Concept: Space Zoo is an original,
energetic, and fun animated TV series aimed at the 6-12 yr old age group.
Set in a colourful cosmos inhabited by wacky aliens and zany creatures,
the action is centered around reluctant hero ZOOT, a hapless, downtrodden
zookeeper and his wild adventures as he travels from planet to planet
collecting new animals to bring back to the Space Zoo.
Whether trekking through the undergrowth on a jungle planet, avoiding
asteroids while being chased through deep space or exploring the depths of
an unchartered ocean the settings for each episode are varied and vibrant
with many eye-catching effects and stunning environments.
Zoot himself is an unlikely hero but has an empathic personality and his
interaction with other characters and the animals in his care can be both
hilarious and heart warming. Seeming to attract trouble wherever he goes
he has a knack for getting into perilous situations. Fortunately, he also
has a knack for getting out of them!
While Space Zoo is set in an imaginary, futuristic universe many of
the storylines are relevant to the real world and as such an ecological
and social awareness is always subtly present so that while the young
viewers will thoroughly enjoy the fast paced action they will also come
away with a positive message.
Space Zoo also has huge potential for
licensing and merchandising opportunities including video games, trading
cards and collectible
action figures.
